Anthony Smith

Anthony Smith was elected to the Board of Supervisors in November 2012. Prior to his election as Supervisor, Smith served two terms as the Mayor of the City of Maricopa. In January 2014, his fellow Supervisors elected him to serve as its Chairman.

Supervisor Smith represents Pinal County District 4 covering an area that includes the City of Maricopa, Arizona City, Thunderbird Farms, Hidden Valley, Papago Butte, Red Rock, SaddleBrooke, the Ak-Chin Indian Community and the Tohono O'odham Nation.

As one of Pinal County's newest Supervisors, Anthony is focused on an agenda that emphasizes leadership, representation and accessibility that will enable Pinal County to best prepare for the next wave of growth.

Smith is a member of several boards and commissions including:

  • Pinal County Governmental Alliance
Smith spent much of his professional career in the project management profession. He obtained certification as a Project Management Professional (PMP) in 1995. Smith holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Purdue University.

Smith moved to Arizona in 1997 to work for Motorola. After moving to Maricopa in 2003, he has been instrumental in helping to create or launch several non-profits. Smith has a heart for and recognizes the value that non-profits bring to communities, and remains a committed advocate who actively promotes their causes.

Supervisor Smith currently resides with his wife Nancy in the City of Maricopa.
