Sun Corridor Inc.

As the first President & CEO of Sun Corridor Inc. Joe Snell brings 30 years of experience leading regional economic development organizations in communities of various sizes.  His knowledge in building strategic, competitive and balanced economic development strategies has resulted in Snell being recognized for creating strong economies in high-growth regions.
Sun Corridor Inc. is a transformative, binational economic development organization representing one of the most dynamic and growing major business centers in North America.  Operating as Tucson Regional Economic Opportunities (TREO) under Snell's leadership for the past 10 years, the organization has helped to drive significant business investment into Tucson and Southern Arizona through primary job creation, resulting in over 120 project successes and an economic impact of $8.1 billion.  In 2015 Snell led the re-engineering of the organization, renamed/rebranded it to Sun Corridor Inc. and expanded its mission and footprint to serve all of Southern Arizona.
Prior to arriving in Arizona in 2005, Snell owned and operated an economic development consulting company serving communities in the Mountain West.  In his previous position as President of the Metro Denver Network, Snell focused his efforts on the development of long-range strategies and the creation of an infrastructure designed to capture high-wage opportunities.  Under his leadership, Metro Denver was consistently ranked as one of the nation's fastest-growing markets in high-wage job creation.  Snell has launched successful economic development groups in both Kansas and New Mexico.  His inclusive approach in the development of goals and plans has resulted in widespread community support and success.
Snell is a frequently requested speaker and lecturer on economic development and competitive issues.  He is also a regular contributor to various international and national media and trade publications.
Snell is currently a Board member of the I-11 Coalition, and an active member of the Urban Land Institute, the Arizona-Mexico Commission and the International Economic Development Council.   He is a former faculty member of the annual Arizona Economic Development Course and former Chair of the Arizona Global Network.
